Monument and Marker Styles

There are four basic types of cemetery memorials:

  • Flat markers - Made from granite or bronze
  • Pillow markers
  • Slant markers
  • 2 piece or multiple piece upright monuments

Each of these types of memorials can be designed in an almost infinite number of sizes.

Choosing which type or style is partly determined by specific cemetery regulations and partly by your own idea of style and personalization.

a Bronze markers are available in a variety of sizes and can be designed as single or companion memorials. This type of memorial can be designed with or without a flower vase.

a Flat markers, also called grass markers, are available in almost any size and in any color of granite. As with all granite markers and monuments there are almost unlimited ways to personalize these memorials.

marker Pillow markers have a slightly sloping face from back to front. They are typically manufactured with about a 2" drop (6" in the back down to 4" in the front).

a Slant markers are commonly installed on a granite base to accommodate a flower vase or to create a more custom look. They are single piece markers cut with a quite vertical sloping face. Adult slant markers are most commonly 16" tall and of course available in many lengths.

a Multiple-piece upright monuments normally consist of a vertical top piece (or pieces) on a base. Design choices are virtually unlimited. Shape, size, granite color and engraving designs are all choices in creating a special tribute to a loved one.
